Staff Positions

Job Descriptions in PDF Form

The expectation is that all summer staff will serve from their first required day of training week until dismissal on the Saturday of the last camp session. Partial summer availability may hinder your employment or placement. Preference will be given to those who are available for the ENTIRE camp season

Counselors

A Counselor:

  • Is at least 18 years old.
  • Has successfully completed the staff application, with references.
  • Is dedicated to Christ and his work.
  • Has completed our training program.
  • Shows concern for the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual lives of campers.

Responsibilities of Counselors:

  • Live a Christ-centered lifestyle.
  • Be a spiritual leader and mentor for campers and fellow staff members.
  • Follow the leadership of camp directors and other leaders.
  • Lead recreation and other activities for campers.
  • Lead Bible studies for campers.
  • Look for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ with campers.
  • Supervise the campers assigned to your cabin.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the leadership staff.

Junior Counselor

A Junior Counselor:

  • Is at least 16 years old.
  • Has successfully completed the staff application, with references.
  • Is dedicated to Christ and his work.
  • Has completed our training program.
  • Shows concern for the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual lives of campers.

Responsibilities of Junior Counselors:

  • Live a Christ-centered lifestyle.
  • Be a spiritual leader and mentor for campers and fellow staff members.
  • Follow the leadership of camp directors and other leaders.
  • Lead recreation and other activities for campers.
  • Look for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ with campers.
  • Assist Counselors in the supervision of the campers assigned to your cabin.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the leadership staff.

Counselors-in-Training

A Counselor-in-training:

  • Has a CIT leader/mentor/discipler
  • Participates in separate CIT bible studies and campfires with other CIT’s and leadership
  • Is at least 14 years old.
  • Has successfully completed the CIT application, with references.
  • Is dedicated to Christ and his work.
  • Will pay $80 per week in attendance at camp to cover room, board, and CIT fun night expenses.
  • Shows concern for the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual lives of campers.

Responsibilities of Counselors-in-training:

  • Live a Christ-centered lifestyle.
  • Be a spiritual example for campers.
  • Follow the leadership of the directors, counselors and other leaders.
  • Assist counselors in leading recreation and other activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the camp (washing dishes, mowing grass, etc.)
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the leadership staff.
